Holding on and Letting Go: Supporting Parents Facing an Unexpected Diagnosis in Pregnancy
There are both half and full day workshops on the topic of Holding On & Letting Go.
The half day workshop covers the topics – our beliefs, making a decision, holding on (continuing the pregnancy), letting go (inducing/terminating the pregnancy), providing support to parents and families and taking care of ourselves.
The full day workshop covers the topics – our beliefs, making a decision, holding on (continuing the pregnancy), letting go (inducing/terminating the pregnancy), providing support to parents and families, when a baby dies (legalities, practicalities, memory making), cultural safety and taking care of ourselves.
Participants of these workshops receive a copy of the book ‘Holding On & Letting Go: Facing an Unexpected Diagnosis in Pregnancy‘ as part of the registration cost.
The NZ Midwifery Council has attributed 5 points to the full-day workshop and 3 points to the half-day workshop.
